Nutrition:
Turnips are low in saturated fat and cholesterol, high in dietry fiber, vitamin C, manganese, vitamin B6, folate, calcium, potassium and copper.

Taste: 
Raw, a turnip tastes like a mild radish. Cooked, the flavor and texture are more that of a potato.

Uses:
Turnips can be eaten raw in salads or cooked in soups and stews or added to stir-fries.

Substitutions:
Radishes, rutabagas, potato

Storage:
Turnips can be stored in the refrigerator for about a week. The leaves should be removed and placed in a seperate bag to be stored.
