Nutrition:
Fresh leaves are an excellent source of several Vitamin A and beta carotenes. Just 100 g of fresh, raw-lettuce provides 247% of daily vitamin A, and 4443 mcg of beta-carotene.

Taste: 
Slightly bitter flavor with a crisp watery texture.

Uses:
Generaly eaten raw in salads, sandwiches and used as a garnish.

Substitutions:
Other types of lettuce and mild leafy greens such as totsoi and mizuna.

Storage:
Store in the refrigerator. Try to use within 7 days.
